Rise Broadband Expands Fixed Wireless Network in Ten Markets

US operator Rise Broadband expanded its network in ten market areas with support from the Federal Communications Commission’s Connect America Fund programme.

Rise Broadband’s enhanced market areas include Iowa (Bassett, Parkersburg, and Sioux City), Texas (Burton and Corsicana), Nebraska (St. Libory and Columbus), Illinois (Manville and Coal City), and Kansas (Marion).

Rise Broadband delivers internet and digital phone service to permanent structures (home and businesses) using wireless spectrum (airwaves) to connect customers.

The company also offers Dish and Direct TV service throughout its coverage area. In 2015, Rise began upgrading its markets to LTE technology, providing speeds up to 50 Mbps.

To date, more than 40 markets have been enhanced and others are scheduled over the next nine to 15 months.
