About the Affordable Connectivity Program

The Affordable Connectivity Program is a government assistance program started in 2021 that offered discounted High-Speed Internet service to qualifying low-income households.

On January 11, 2024 the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced that funding for this program may run out as early as April 2024. Congressional approval on future funding is required for the program to continue. As a result, the FCC is preparing the potential end date of the ACP.

As of February 7, 2024 new applications are no longer being accepted. Existing applicants can still recertify.

The FCC will provide a 60-day notice of the program’s closure date, which is anticipated to be released before the end of February.
